Due to its relatively remote location, getting around is typically done by car, scooter, or quad bike, although the local green bus service and private transfers are also available. From the harbour, a government ferry offers regular weekly connections to Mathraki, Ereikoussa, and Othoni—providing both essential supplies to these islands and an affordable way for visitors to explore some of the Ionian Sea’s most untouched landscapes.
A variety of excursions and experiences are available throughout the village, from water sports along the beach to private boat charters and organized trips through local travel agencies. For walkers, the area is especially rewarding, offering scenic routes through hills and coastline, with nearby destinations such as Arillas, Afionas, and Avliotes waiting to be explored.

How long does it take to reach San Stefanos from Corfu Airport by private transfer?
The transfer time from Corfu Airport to San Stefanos is approximately 1 hour, depending on traffic and road conditions.
Overnight Tax
In 2024, the Greek Government approved an increase to the Tourist Climate Resilience Tax, commonly referred to as the “overnight tax” or “visitor tax.” Although similar taxes are already common in many holiday destinations, this tax has only been applied in Greece since 2018. Please note that this tax is not included in the cost of your holiday booking. It must be paid directly at your accommodation, either upon check-in or during your stay, and is usually payable in cash. Spending Money in the village & ATM’s.
Throughout the resort, both Cash & Card are readily accepted. For those wishing to withdraw cash, there are a multitude of ATM’s available throughout San Stefanos. We recommend using an ATM assigned to a registered bank, i.e. Piraeus. Always remember to deny the conversion rate, in order to receive the exchange rate set by your own banking institution.

Super Markets & Arrival Deliveries
There are 4 supermarkets located throughout Agios Stefanos North West, all offering a variety of produce.
Carrefour Express, located in the centre of the main street is open throughout the summer and winter months, and offers fresh produce, everyday items, household items, and holiday products. They offer FREE Delivery to your accommodation, prior to your arrival, so that you arrive with some supplies to kick start your holiday.

Support The Local Community Cats!
Upon visiting San Stefanos, you may notice many feline friends calling the village their home. Whilst a large majority have loving owners, the village does house several stray cats, who are cared and provided for by a local lady, named Gwen.
